When my oldest daughter turned 8, she asked for a Panda-themed birthday party! It sort of felt like it came out of nowhere – that all of the sudden she loved pandas, but I was happy to oblige! …Because who doesn’t love cute cuddly panda bears?! Find out how you, too, can throw a DIY Party Like A Panda Birthday!
Panda Party Invitation
The first thing I needed to do was to find an invitation that we loved. We found this girly, floral panda invite and decided that since this would be an August birthday, we would make it a panda POOL party! I also decided I would have our activity set up down in the barn.
Party Like A Panda Decor
Once we had the design inspiration from our invitation, I found a similarly styled cute floral-panda backdrop for our pergola.

Panda Party Decor
For our food table, I found these adorable panda face party plates and napkins! I also added some pretty rose-gold dessert plates for our cake time. I laid faux flowers across a burlap runner – both of which I have utilized for so many events. The burlap runners were left over from a wedding and were about to be thrown out, but I gladly took them – and the faux flowers left over from a friend’s baby shower! When you find something that works, you tend to just keep on using it! It’s also a great way to save money!
I ordered some balloons in shades of pink, white and green in keeping with the floral theme. This panda balloon was fun also.
Panda Party Favors
For our party favors, I bought these sweet little favor bags and filled them with treats and panda stickers.
Panda Party Craft Time Down in the Barn
For this party’s simple craft, I bought a bunch of DIY canvas cosmetic bags for our sweet guests to personalize. They could also be used as a pen/pencil case, or jewelry- anything really! I provided a collection of adhesive stencils, sponge and regular paintbrushes, and an assortment of acrylic paints and girls got to work on their beautiful creations! I just love how colorful and unique they all turned out!
Panda Cake Time!
Because my oldest daughter’s birthday falls in the summertime, I keep things super easy for myself and usually order an ice cream cake made at a popular local creamery. I mean, who doesn’t love an ice cream cake on a hot summer day?! I always ask them to leave the cake blank so that I can decorate. I ordered this panda cake topper and in keeping with the theme, threw on a few faux flowers to adorn the panda’s head.
I hope you enjoyed this Party Like A Panda Birthday! As always, you can find more Fern Party inspiration right here!
