I can’t believe I’m even saying the word “tween” as I type this! How is my baby getting so grown up?! Ok, ok… so she’s only 10…but still! Sorry just had to get that out of the way! Now I can move on. So this year I thought I’d carry on our annual tradition of hosting a Galentine’s, but now that my oldest daughter and her set of friends are getting a bit older I knew I’d need to adjust a little bit with the set of activities I’d usually plan to make them more age-appropriate. I did a little brainstorming and planned out what I’m confident will be a fun-filled Valentine’s Day celebration that I know my pre-teen girl and her girlfriends will LOVE! Pizza, D-I-Y bath bombs, a dance party, healthy brownie mug cakes, and a movie! Read on and see how you too, can simply and affordably Host an Epic Galentine’s Party for Tweens!

Why bother to Celebrate Valentine’s Day?
We just love a day that’s all about LOVE! I’ve said this in my other post, Galentines for Littles and I’ll say it again! Making sure that every girl who comes to our parties feels special and loved on is our main goal! We are also celebrating God’s great love for us. He is the supreme author of LOVE!
1 John 4:9-19 says, “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should to perish, but have eternal life.”

Making Galentine’s Cookies
Every year, my kids and I bake our favorite sugar cookies together in sweet Valentine’s shapes, and enjoy an afternoon of decorating. Sometimes we invite friends to join us, but this year we will do it on our own and plan on gifting some to friends that we see at the end of the week; and of course serving them at our Galentine’s Party. As usual, we use our favorite Fool-Proof Gluten Free Cookie Recipe!

Getting Ready for Some Galentine’s Fun
This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday, which happens to be our super long day out of the house with our 1 1/2 year old, as my girls take homeschool classes in the “arts” with back-to-back classes all day long. I still wanted to host something as we do every year, so I knew I would just need to think ahead an have everything planned out, and set out so that when we return home with their friends, everything is ready to go!
If you wanted, you could easily turn your Galentine’s into a slumber party! Or add in some other fun activities such as a painted wooden frame craft activity, or cookie decorating! The sky’s the limit! This is just what I’ve chosen to do with my girls this year that fits best into our busy schedule!
Galentine’s Invite

I sent out this invitation that I customized using Canva via text message since this year it was sort of a last minute decision to host. I usually prefer paper invitations but I think this came out pretty cute!
Galentine’s Pizza Party
Who doesn’t love pizza?! This will be a simple dinner that everyone will enjoy, and it takes basically no effort on my part aside from ordering and picking it up. Dinner. Check! Done. If you have more time it would also be quite fun to form the dough with the girls and make customized heart-shaped pizzas!
D-I-Y Bath Bomb Activity
I thought it would be fun for girls to make their own organic bath bombs since I’ve seen a few recipes online that looked fairly simple. Girls will get to create their own organic bath bombs, perfect for a pampering treat to take home, or gift to someone after the festivities. I thought this would be a sweet, thoughtful favor. I ordered this heart mold to make them. Below is the recipe we’re using!

DIY Natural Bath Bombs using Essential Oils
Materials
- 1 cup Baking Soda
- ½ cup Citric Acid
- 2 tbsp Epsom Salt
- 3 tbsp Melted Coconut Oil
- 4 drops Essential Oil
- 1 tsp Water (or more if necessary)
- Molds
Instructions
- Combine your baking soda, citric acid, and epsom salts in a large bowl. Stir them together well. **Be sure not to breathe in the citric acid, as it is powerful and can cause respiratory issues. I suggest wearing a mask to be safe especially if kids are involved in this project! Citric acid is natural and not harmful to skin but may cause irritation when breathed in.
- In a small bowl combine together your melted coconut oil and chosen essential oils
- VERY SLOWLY whisk your wet ingredients into the dry. You'll want it to reach a crumbly consistency.
- Your mixture is ready when you can mold it into a shape and it sticks without coming apart. If it seems too crumbly, add in a bit more water, only 1 tsp at a time. Your mixture should be dry but also able to hold shape.
- Pack your mixture into your molds to create their fun shape
- Remove them carefully and place on a baking sheet to dry out for about 8-12 hours.
- Enjoy your bath bombs!
Notes
Dance Party!
Next, we will have a dance party in our attic so everyone can show off their best moves! We have a strobe light mounted on the ceiling similar to this one and LED strips along the walls! We’ll play some awesome dance music.
Delicious Galentine’s Healthy Brownie Mug Cakes
I thought it would be fun if the girls got involved with making their own desserts for the evening, and I remember how much fun we’ve had in the past just my girls and I making mug cakes. It’s so easy and SO DELICIOUS! I’m sharing our recipe below! These heart-shaped ramekins are perfect for the occasion!

Healthy & Incredibly Delicious Brownie Mug Cake

Equipment
Method
- Combine your wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a brownie batter consistency forms. Place your mug/ramekin into the microwave and cook for about 40 seconds. Allow your brownie to cool for at least 3 minutes.
- Serve with dairy-free whipped cream on top or vanilla ice cream, organic hot fudge and/or natural sprinkles!

Galentine’s Movie Night
We thought it would be nice to end our evening with a movie centered around LOVE! A few ideas we had was The Parent Trap (the original or Lindsay Lohan version) or Lady & the Tramp, although of course you could watch anything you’d like.
I think this year it will be the ultimate Galentine’s bash, packed with yummy yet healthy treats, fun activities, and memories to last! I hope this has given you some inspiration for hosting your own Galentine’s Party for Tweens… or any age for that matter! To check out our Galentine’s Party for Littles, click here!
